Slane, Jennifer D., S. Alexandra Burt, and Kelly L. Klump. "Genetic And Environmental Influences
On Disordered Eating And Depressive Symptoms." International Journal Of Eating     Disorders 44.7(2011): 605-611. Academic Search Premier. Web. 8 Nov. 2013.

This article is a credible source for my research because of the context that it brings with eating disorders and depression. The authors’ credentials include Ph.D.’s in psychology. The study of psychology is key in the discussion of eating disorders because it all begins in the human mind. This article was published in the International Journal of Eating Disorders on November 1st 2011. The authors’ main goals of this article are to inform and persuade about the causes of eating disorders and how they can affect our lives. The audience of this article would be the people who care about eating disorders as well as people affected by depression, who would agree that depression can be a causation or side effect to eating disorders. The authors incorporate statistical, analogical and testimonial evidence in this article. This builds their credibility because it shows that they know exactly what they are talking about and are able to accurately produce the results of their testing done in relation to eating disorders and depressive symptoms. It is limited in that to my knowledge, none of them have been affected by eating disorders. Based on my opinion I would fully agree with these authors and say that depression is closely tied in with eating disorders. This article is a good addition to my essay because it shows that depression which can be more common within families can be the start to eating disorders. This would put me one step closer in proving my thesis.
